Located on the island of Elbow Cay and lying just a short water ferry ride from the mainland, Hope Town is a secluded paradise that takes you instantaneously back in time to the way life used to be.  Famous for its candy striped lighthouse and wonderfully secluded harbour, Hopetown is a boaters heaven. Hope Town real estate can be seperated into three distinct locations. Real estate in each area offer a different island experience. Property starting at the northern tip of the island is called "North End"  and is known for relatively newer homes on very  large private estates some of which run from sea to sea. North End property offers seclusion and privacy, as these lovely beachfront residences can only be accessed by golf cart for the property owners and on foot for everybody else. A wonderful morning stroll up to the North End and back is good way to start the day from town. There is a small marina that services just the property owners on the North End. Immediately south is the settlement of Hope Town famous for its horseshoe bay offering shelter to many sailboats and yachts. The town of Hope Town is characterized by quaint colorful seaside cottages some over 100 years old. Hopetown is the orignal settlement on Elbow Cay and  dates back to the 19th century. Stop by Vernon's Bakery or spend some time in the Wyannie Malone museum or just spend the day strolling casually around town. Cap'n Jacks waterfront restaurant is a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner also Hope Town Harbour Lodge and Harbour's Edge Restaurant. Hope Town offers two grocery stores, a seafood store, fire station, coffee house and numerous other tourist boutiques and souvenir shops. Quiet pedestrian streets allow no vehicular traffic in town. South of Hope Town starting at the Government dock, is a road with travels down to the south end of the island. Vehicular traffic is allowed on this road but it is mostly travelled by golf cart along with small cars and trucks owned by locals. Pass settlements like White Sound where luxury beachfront homes sit high on sand bluffs and communities of Dorros Cove, Marnie's Landing and the world famous Tahiti Beach. Sea Spray Resort is another waterfront hot spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner and is situated a cart ride away in White Sound. Real estate in the south end is characterized by more modern island style homes and hilltop estates. Most of this part of the island has been recently developed and real estate is readily available.  On the way to the south end you must stop in at White Sound to see Ricky and Betty Sweeting at Sweeting's Grocery.
